“Poukama” route
The Poukaman route runs along slopes and outdoor trails in a versatile environment. Going clockwise, we first climb over the “Maisematie” and descend from “Merisärkkä” (Restaurant Stage) to the duckboards, which offers amazing sea views! After completing the duckboards, we move to the paved nature trail in “Keihäslahti”, which leads to the “Poukama” campfire site and the “Vihaslahti” bird tower. From there, we continue along the slope in the direction of the ski lodge. The ski lodge is passed on the west side, and winding up to the “Puojinsuo” moat path. Along the embankment, we drive towards “Tapio Tupa”, sometimes switching to the light traffic lane, from where we continue along the track bottom back to Safaritalo. On the map, kilometers are shown in white circles when driving in the forward direction. However, you can only drive around the route in either direction!
“Viitapakka” route
“Viitapakka” route is for the most part a wide trail bed covered with wood chips. There are not many hills except “Viitapakka” itself, from which the route gets its name, and the ascent from the beach to “Merisärkkä”. A forest path can also be found a short way down when descending from “Viitapakka”. From “Kallanportti” onwards, the route goes along the sandy beach around the campsite. Beach offers the opportunity to drive on real roaches, which are different every year and in slightly different places! From the northeast corner of the campsite, you go up to “Merisärkkä”, and you descend along the bike path back to Safaritalo.
